Wealth management in Geneva: an independent approach to your assets

A single point of contact to analyse your wealth, define your strategy and monitor your banks and managers

Wealth management in Geneva focused solely on your interests

Two banks, a manager, a life insurance policy, a few inherited investments: wealth builds up in layers, and soon nobody has the full picture. Each adviser knows their own part, the fees add up, and the statements end up in a drawer.

Family Office Geneva brings order to all this. Our independence allows us to provide wealth management in Geneva focused solely on your interests. As a family office in Geneva, we analyse your situation, put a global strategy in place, select the most suitable financial players and follow an action plan over time.

Our aim is simple: to preserve your financial assets, limit risks as far as possible and increase their value. Nobody can guarantee you a return, and we will not do so. What we offer is a clear strategy, monitored results and a relationship of trust over the long term.

Our wealth management offer: from analysis to monitoring

Three stages, one point of contact, however many banks you work with.

Analysis of your financial position

We start by laying everything out: accounts, portfolios, pensions, debts, fees, risks. We also talk about what no statement shows: your objectives, your time horizon, your tolerance for risk, your family plans. You get a clear picture of your wealth, often the first in years.

Tailored investment strategy

From this assessment, we build a strategy suited to your profile: asset allocation, currencies, available liquidity, the balance between return and risk. Our solutions do not come from a standard model, because a family preparing a transfer of wealth does not have the same needs as an entrepreneur who has just sold a company.

Choice of partners and results monitoring

We select banks and managers according to your interests, compare their fees and performance, then monitor their work. You receive regular reports and we adjust the strategy when markets or your life change. If a partner stops delivering, we tell you.

Banks, independent managers, family office: who does what?

Your bank holds your assets and offers you its services. An independent wealth manager, on the other hand, is not a bank: they manage a portfolio under a mandate, while the assets normally stay in an account in your name at a custodian bank.

A family office works one level above. We look at the whole picture, compare, coordinate your banks, managers and other advisers, and become your single point of contact. We are also the ones who ask the awkward questions about fees, so that you do not have to. And if the letters from your banks and insurers start piling up, our administrative management in Geneva service takes over.

A regulated profession: FINMA and supervisory organisations

Since 1 January 2020, the Financial Institutions Act (FinIA) and the Financial Services Act (FinSA) have governed the profession in Switzerland. A portfolio manager working on a professional basis must obtain authorisation from FINMA before starting. A supervisory organisation, itself authorised by FINMA, then checks that the conditions of authorisation are met.

The list of authorised managers is public: check it for any manager who approaches you. Another useful reflex: the deposit guarantee covers account balances up to 100,000 francs per client and per bank. Above that amount, the choice of institutions and the way your assets are spread matter, and we look at this with you.

Wealth management or wealth planning: what is the difference?

Wealth management deals with your financial assets: accounts, securities, funds, investment products. Wealth planning in Geneva goes further: property, tax, pensions, passing assets on to your loved ones. In practice the two go together, because an investment strategy only makes sense if it takes account of your taxes, your property and your family plans.

Our clients are entrepreneurs, heirs or former executives: our services are not reserved for wealthy families. They are for anyone who wants support in managing their wealth, without the difficulties that come with it.

Frequently asked questions about wealth management

🏦 Do my assets have to leave my bank?

Not necessarily. We start from your existing banking relationships and only suggest a change if it is justified, for example by excessive fees or poor service. The final decision is yours.

📈 Can you guarantee a return?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. The perfect, risk-free investment does not exist. We look for the balance between return and risk that suits you, and we explain what you could lose as well as what you could gain.

🪙 Is there a minimum level of wealth?

Our services are not reserved for large fortunes. The simplest thing is to describe your situation to us: we will tell you frankly whether our support would be useful to you.

💸 How are you paid?

Our remuneration depends on your situation and the scope of our support. We explain it at the first conversation, before you commit to anything.
